Vencube assembly and commissioning

Mount the Vencube

The device is assembled by the customer.
Proceed as follows during assembly:

  • Open the machine.
  • Turn off the power to the machine.
  • Determine the optimal installation position:
Place the VENCUBE as close as possible to the machine controls and payment systems.
Make sure that the controls are easily accessible.
    Note the cable length.
  • Glue the base plate (holder) and screw it. (Image 1)

If gluing is not possible, the assembly click holder must be screwed diagonally to the designated points in the machine with at least 2 screws1). The screw heads must be complete Sit flush and must not protrude.
1) Hardened countersunk self-drilling screw, ∅ 3.5 according to DIN 7504

  • Clip the VENCUBE into the base plate. (Image 2)
  • Remove the machine controls cover.

The machine must be voltage-free!

  • Disconnect all existing payment systems (1, 2) from the machine control. (Image 3)
  • Connect the cables from the VENCUBE:
  • Connect the (MDB) master connection (3) from the VENCUBE to the vending machine control. (Image 4)
  • Connect the (MDB) slave port (4) to all existing payment systems (5). If necessary, use a Y-cable. (Image 5)
  • If possible, glue the antenna (6) behind a plastic cover. (Image 6)
  • Route the antenna cable.
  • Lay all cables professionally with cable ties.

Never use the existing door switch of the machine, this can destroy the Vencube.

Always connect the door switch as closer to plug 1 with the Vencube.
Use connector "COM" and connector "NO" from the switch.

Regular processes at the machine

Cash withdrawal

A cash withdrawal or "cash register emptying" is indicated by pressing the "cash withdrawal" button, marked with the letter "E" and a € symbol. It is possible to install special hardware in the coin box to automate this step. In both cases, the Vencube signals with a short beep that a cash register emptying has been registered. If one of the cash registers in the machine is removed, all cash registers (e.g. coin box and note box) must always be removed at the same time. If the money is removed from one of the cash registers in the machine, all existing cash registers (e.g. coin box and note box) must always be emptied at the same time. This emptying is confirmed by pressing the E button on the Vencube.

Cash register withdrawal, the machine is being accounted for

Change filling and change withdrawal

The change filling and withdrawal are initiated by pressing the "Tube inventory" button, marked by the letter "F" and a stylized change tube. As soon as this process has been initiated, the buttons on the coin changer are released and these can be used to pay out coins manually. Coins can be deposited by inserting them. As long as the process is being carried out, the Vencube shows this using the operating status LED1 and LED2, which light up one after the other in green and red at regular intervals. Once the desired change level has been reached, the process is ended by pressing the "Tube inventory" button again. If coins are fed into the coin cassette during the process, especially during filling, they must remain there. If necessary, the cash register can be emptied afterwards.

Service call

Note:
Important: All of the work carried out below assumes that no money is added to or removed from the machine.

A service call may be necessary at any time, e.g. because payment systems need to be replaced. A service call is started by pressing the "MODE" and the service button, marked by the letter "C" and a stylized wrench, in quick succession. During service mode, any hardware in a machine can be replaced, except for the Vencube. The continuous lighting of the operating status LED 1 in the colors red and green (yellow) indicates that the Vencube is in this mode. This mode can only be exited by pressing the "MODE" and the service button again in quick succession. Restarting the Vencube, even after a power loss, does not automatically end the mode.

As long as this operating mode is active, the following work can be carried out:

  • Replacement of machine components
  • Test sales using all installed payment systems
  • Installation of additional payment systems
  • Replacement of payment systems
  • Correction of change stocks

Replacing the Vencube

Replacing a Vencube in the event of a defect is a combination of the processes mentioned here in the following order:

  • Assigning the replacement device to the machine
  • Withdrawing cash from the machine
  • Withdrawing change from the machine
  • Taking the defective Vencube out of service
  • Putting the new Vencube into service
  • Adding change
